Cop catches sidewalk lovers' quarrel

A couple walking on a city street picked a bad time to get into a fight since an off-duty Kalispell Police Department officer was walking behind them. They had pushed each other before an officer sent the man on his way and another office accompanied the woman to a gas station where she was going to get a ride from another person.

A man called to report someone entered his unlocked home while he took a walk. He wasn’t sure if anything was taken.

A man called about his wife’s lost phone. It had been left in the bathroom of a store and he used location settings and had tracked it to the parking lot. He wanted to see if police could help him get the phone back, but the phone had been turned off and he was unable to see where it was.

A woman called after a man followed her to her apartment and twisted the door knob. He was described as a tall, white male with medium-length curly hair and baggy clothes. He left a few minutes later.

A person reported a car that had rolled out of its parking space and into the street. An officer spoke with the owner who said he’d move it back where it belonged.

A crowing rooster had yet to mend its noisy ways according to a caller who complained about their nieghbor’s animal.

A man in charge of a road project called about drivers speeding in a construction zone and some not stopping at a stop sign. He was asking for extra patrol and also wanted to talk to the city department about some low-hanging trees that may have been blocking visibility.

A man called to report someone stole a number of multipurpose ladders from his work site and wanted to ask for extra patrol in the area.

A man had to stop and change his tire after he ran over a large chunk of concrete, just west of the old Reserve turnoff. An officer assisted him and removed the 2-foot-long and six-inch piece.

A woman called about a dead skunk and wanted to know what to do with it.
