Red boots, pink paint, cream cheese: A recipe for disorder

A man in red boots with pink paint on his hands was told to stay out of an area grocery store by Kalispell Police after he was accused of stealing a package of cream cheese.

Someone reported a very drunk man passed out in a hallway. A friend later helped him to his room.

A grandmother called about her 11-year-old grandson having allegedly “been fed marijuana all day” after she picked him up. He was later taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

A caller was concerned that her reportedly drug-addicted, homeless sister may try to break into her apartment while she was away. She asked law enforcement to check her residence, which they did and found no sign of any break-in.

Someone reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the wrong direction in front of his mother’s house.

A caller wanted police to get some garage partiers to quiet down after the celebration lasted beyond midnight. In addition, a dog was left outside and was whining and yipping. The party-goers agreed to move inside after an officer spoke to them.

A person reported having a .45 caliber XDS handgun and a wallet stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

A woman reported several people who drove through her yard. She was concerned that her landlord would blame her for it. The drivers were avoiding cones that were blocking the alley. She was told to call the street department in the morning.

A caller who had a brother assaulted by a man a few weeks ago said a friend of the man tried to punch him recently. Later, a group of men allegedly threatened him at an area watering hole and told him to drop the charges. When an officer spoke to the man he didn’t like what he said and hung up.

A man who had his argument with his wife while they were driving through downtown. He said she stopped the vehicle, he took the keys and got out. She then yelled that he had hit her which resulted in another man confronting her husband. The man went to the police office because the man and others were waiting for him at the vehicle. Police determined there was a warrant for her arrest and she was taken into custody.

Someone reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department that an obese woman wearing a red tank top was drinking in a bar while her four little girls were roaming around outside.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on Nucleus Avenue, but an officer learned she was just waiting for parts for her car.

A report of a business on fire turned out to be a false alarm after people buffing the floors caused some smoke, setting off the alarm.

Someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a person had their kids in a trailer that was being towed by a 4-wheeler. The kids weren’t strapped in or wearing helmets.

A vehicle that ended in the Flathead River caused some alarm for the rafter who reported it before officials determined the car was being towed by another vehicle and had come loose from the hitch, went over a cliff and into the water.

A man who had loaned his car to his dad called after his dad went to jail and his friends began driving it. He had questions about his uncle taking the vehicle back.

Two people from Colorado were sleeping in a vehicle at the old gravel boat launch and blocked others from using it. A deputy woke them up and got them out of the way.

A caller reported his wife was drinking “Wild Turkey” and pushed him in the chest. He left the residence and she locked him out so he decided to go elsewhere for the night.

A caller who went for a boat ride returned to find his kayak missing when he returned.

A woman who got into an argument with her son over him planning on taking the car wanted him counseled by police if they found him. She said he started kicking and breaking things in the home before he left.

A 17-year-old son was able to stop and altercation between his parents, who are not together. The son chose to stay with his father while his sister opted to return with the mother, who was going to return to Butte that evening.
