Tickets on sale for Big Night Italian Feast
Tickets are now available for the Big Night epic Italian feast presented by the art department at Flathead Valley Community College.
Proceeds from the June 14 event will benefit the La Serenissima Scholarship fund to support students in the Semester in Venice study-abroad program.
Big Night guests are invited to enjoy Italian appetizers, entrees and desserts created by students and faculty of the Culinary Institute of Montana. The buffet-style dinner will include antipasti, focaccia, salad, pasta penne with shrimp and assorted sauces, spicy Italian sausage and peppers, salmon with tomato and basil, chicken masala and New York strip beef loin. Dessert will be tiramisu, amaretto cheesecake and lemon cream cake.
A no-host bar with specially selected Italian wines will be available. The event also will feature an Italian-themed auction and a short presentation by students about their experience with the Semester in Venice program.
Susan Guthrie, director of the Semester in Venice program since 2016, has been travelling, studying and teaching in Italy for more than 20 years. She has developed a network of personal and professional relationships with native Venetians that allows FVCC students to experience life in the ancient city as a resident rather than a tourist. “What a joy and privilege it is for me to be able to take students to Venice and help them to see and understand at a deep level what they are looking at and why it is so special,” Guthrie said. “The Big Night helps our students in need reach their dreams of going to Venice for a most unique educational experience.” Big Night will begin at 6 p.m. on June 14 in the Arts and Technology Building on campus. Tickets are $75 per person. For additional information about Big Night or to purchase tickets, visit www.fvcc.edu/big-night or call 756-3632.
