Rabble-rousing rooster ruins respit

A Bear Canyon Road rooster’s racket led to a phone call to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. The foul fowl was apparently too noisy from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A man called to report one of his vehicles was vandalized and a teddy bear was stolen from inside it. He didn’t know who did it, but said there were “shady” people living in the area.

A concerned caller reported a disheveled man walking under a underpass while pushing a shopping cart and was staring at an underage girl. The caller said the man seemed to be very drunk, shirtless and his pants were falling down. An officer attempted to find the man, but had no luck.

A dispute over a pit bull nearly led to blows to two women in Kalispell. A caller found the dog running loose in the street and she took it home. She then called the phone number on the collar and spoke to the other woman, who the caller described as a drug dealer. The caller was demanding boarding fees before the dog owner grabbed the animal and left.

Apparently, a pink/camo collar on a Labrador canine wasn’t enough for the person who found it to want to keep the dog.

Someone called to report a female juvenile that had reportedly used a pair of scissors to cut wires inside a Dodge pickup truck. The person also claimed she used a screw driver to take the dash apart.

A person called to report a vehicle that was improperly parked on Phanco Lane in Kalispell and had blankets covering the windows. A deputy spoke to the owner of the vehicle who said his dog was in the vehicle and that’s why the blankets were put up. The owner said he’d move the vehicle soon.

A woman called to ask questions about a mechanic holding on to her car in lieu of payment. She said he admitted to installing a timing belt incorrectly and the engine then blew up. Now, the man said a cracked valve led to the calamity. The woman was advised of her civil options.

A caller reported someone broke into a excavator parked in a construction area and stole the controls.

The owner of a bed and breakfast called to complain about his neighbor running a chain saw at 6 a.m. The person believed the saw operator was doing it to harass him and his clients. He told a deputy that he didn’t actually see who was running the saw, but believed it was the neighbor. The deputy told the man it wasn’t unreasonable to operate a saw at that hour, at this time of year, in the woods. The man said he was going to pursue the matter in civil court.

A person called the Kalispell Police Department to report a blue Ford Taurus cruising up and down 5th Ave. and 1st St. East. The person said the car repeatedly stopped and the occupants got out and checked car doors. An officer responded, but was unable to locate the suspects.

A college student who locked her keys in her vehicle after getting gas decided she was unable to drive home after a tow truck driver unlocked her truck. She took a taxi home.

A person came to the Columbia Falls Police Department to report losing their wallet. The person reported leaving it on top of the vehicle before driving away from a car wash.
