Jeanette Betty (MacDonald) Wetzel, 75

In the mid-afternoon of June 12, 2018, while working in her garden, Jan passed away at her home in Kalispell.

She was born May 11, 1943, to Ronald and Mary (Sharpe) MacDonald. Jan attended grade school and high school in Kalispell and completed stewardess training in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jeanette was married to her first husband, Richard Presnell, in 1963. Two children, Jamie M. and James M. were born of this marriage.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ronald and Mary MacDonald, and brother Ronald MacDonald Jr.

Jan is survived by her sister Marilyn Smith and husband Arthur Smith; daughter Jamie Presnell-Lentz, and son James Presnell; grandchildren, Justin Hoehn, Kaylee Presnell, Sydney Presnell, Carmen Lentz-Allen, Amanda Leonhard and Nakesha Hughes; and great-grandchildren, Sofia, Liam, Riley and Jameson.

Jan enjoyed traveling the world, visiting with friends and family and just enjoying life. She loved four-wheeling, whether it was climbing the mountains near her winter home in Yuma, Arizona, or with friends and family back in her summer home in Montana.

A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell. Officiating will be family friend, Kim Manore. A reception will follow at the Smith Valley Grange, Highway 2 West, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Kalispell. No graveside service will be held.
