Whitefish City Council will talk subdivisions
The Whitefish City Council will meet at 7:10 p.m. Monday evening in the council chambers to hold a public hearing and consider action on a considerable subdivision on the west end of town.
The subdivision, proposed by British Columbia-based Reto Barrington of 93 LLC, is a 26-lot subdivision at 1735, 1765, 1785, 1825, 1875, 1895 and 1975 U.S. 93 W. The area is across the highway from the Whitefish Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
If subdivided, the developer plans to build 22 single-family homes and 30 condominiums. The properties currently hold a couple of single-family homes and some outbuildings, which would be removed to make room for the new ones if approved.
The planning board staff recommended approval of the measure at their meeting on March 5.
Here are the other items on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting:
— The council will consider approval of the Eagle Lake Planned Unit Development, which would consist of developing 60 condominiums in 10 buildings on a 7.163-acre parcel of land at 6405 U.S. 93 South.
— There will also be a public hearing and consideration of the city manager’s proposed FY 19 budget.
— There will also be discussion and consideration of changing regulations regarding signage in Whitefish.
— Before the meeting the council will hold an interview for Chris Barnes to renew his three-year appointment to the Architectural Review Committee. There will be a chance for public comment, then a vote on his reappointment. That is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m.
