Motocross riders go full throttle

A Bigfork resident called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office asking how to get a neighbor’s homemade, private motocross track “shut down.” Deputies advised the reporting party that no county ordinances existed to restrict the construction of the track or prohibit its use on private property. The deputies suggested the person try talking to the neighbors about the issues in person rather than getting law enforcement involved.

A Martin City resident reported finding three lost horses grazing in his yard after they allegedly escaped their fence. The man stated he was unsure where the horses belonged but he did not complain about the free, unexpected grass cutting service.

Someone reportedly stole four new tires from a shop in Columbia Falls. Nothing else was reported missing.

A laptop and set of keys were reportedly stolen from a painting business in Kalispell. Someone allegedly broke into the store with a screwdriver upon finding the deadbolt unlocked.

According to a Columbia Falls Police report, two horses reportedly escaped from their home and were found near the water slides near Highway 2. The horses’ owner recovered them before either made it to the whirlpool.

A passerby told Kalispell Police they saw a man fall face first into a ditch while walking down the side of the road near Woodland Park. The driver said he did not stop to check on the man. Officers responded to find the man highly intoxicated and unwilling to accept any assistance in walking home.

A group of four kids was reported for harassing drivers, allegedly jumping out in front of cars and attempting to punch vehicles and drivers.

A woman reported her intoxicated ex for following her home from a bar, while repeatedly expressing his anger at her for leaving him. The man allegedly had a key to the woman’s car and decided to stand outside the residence where she and her children were staying and repeatedly set off the car alarm, forcing her to call 911.

Someone reported seeing a shoeless child around 2 or 3 years old running along the highway unaccompanied.

A boxer was found wandering near 10th Street West and taken to the county animal shelter.

A woman complained that her friend, who was supposed to be walking her husky, allegedly never brought her dog back. The owner was then later told that her dog was at the shelter.

A woman reported her co-worker for “screaming in her ear” and allegedly causing hearing damage. The woman stated that she went to a hearing specialist as a result.

A woman reportedly ran after employees attempted to confront her about allegedly stealing makeup and candy from a grocery store.
