'50s musical hits the stage at Bigfork Summer Playhouse
Bigfork Summer Playhouse presents “All Shook Up” as the fourth show of their 51st summer season.
“All Shook Up” is inspired by and features the songs of Elvis Presley and opens on Tuesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. Other showings will take place at the same time on June 29, July 3, 6, 9, 14, 18, 22, 28, Aug. 3, 7, 11,16, 21 and 24.
The incredibly energetic and fast-paced musical is set in an unnamed small midwestern town in the mid 1950s. The town is drab and empty and the people who live there lack life and soul. However, things change very quickly when a roustabout named Chad rolls into the community with a guitar on his back and a song in his heart.
His mission is to reach out and inspire people to try to find their own song and change their life for the better. Our hero finds that he has his work cut out for him this time battling a close-minded mayor and the fact that this time … he has fallen in love.
“All Shook Up” features such classic songs as “Jailhouse Rock,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Don’t Be Cruel” and of course, “All Shook Up.” These iconic hits are brought to life by the incredibly talented cast, directors and choreographer.
Director, Dan Sharkey, returns to Bigfork Summer Playhouse, after several seasons off for his Broadway commitments, but is certainly no stranger to directing or the BSP family. With ‘newbie’ musical director Brandon Peck and BSP veteran, Audrey Lane Crocker, choreographing these high energy dance numbers, this show will have you out of your seats and wanting to dance.
Tickets are $26 for adults, $22 for seniors and $17 for children. They are available online at www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com, onthe theater’s Facebook page or at the Box office by calling 837-4886.
