Make way for stuck ducklings

According to the Kalispell Police Department, concerned citizens came to the rescue of some ducklings that were stuck in a drain in front of U.S. Bank. Several people tried to stop and help while the mother duck and one of her babies remained outside. The people eventually reunited the ducklings with their mother.

A woman called wanting to report a store employee who had accidentally run over her feet with a pallet jack while she was in the self-checkout line. She wanted a report so she could take it to small claims court for reimbursement of her medical bills.

A woman called to request extra patrol because her partner has a history of extreme stalking. She does not have a restraining order against and he has no known history of violence with a weapon, although he does own several.

A woman called wondering what the rules are for having firearms in the city. She said there was someone in the area using an air rifle to shoot rabbits.

A man reported a strange encounter with two people in a blue Hyundai with New Mexico plates. He said a man got out of the vehicle and tried to fight with him before following him into the store. The man said the other guy acted strange. He said he also saw a woman get out of the Hyundai and throw up.

A man spending time in a bar thought someone had stolen his wallet. It turned out to be a misunderstanding and the man had his wallet back.

A man reported being bitten on his wrist by a woman, who he said had been drinking. He said she hit herself and told him she was going to say that he had hit her.

A person called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report a former employee who called and sent inappropriate messages to other employees. A deputy advised them to block contact and pursue a restraining order if they felt threatened.

A man called to report a woman who drove up his driveway and through his yard. He was concerned that his septic system could have been damaged. When the man spoke to the woman, she said her truck doesn’t have a reverse gear and she couldn’t back up.

Someone called to report her mother, who had been drinking heavily, had fallen down the steps and hurt her knee. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A person called to report several children in a Honda van on Reserve Drive that weren’t buckled in and were “flying around like it’s a jungle gym.” They did stop at a restaurant in Evergreen and got the kids buckled up.

A caller reported a woman sitting in front of her garage. The person said it was an ongoing issue with the woman knocking on doors of houses in the area. She had to kick her off her property at 5 a.m. after the woman knocked on her door. She was described as wearing a baggy gray sweatshirt and baggy pants.

A woman with a three-day restraining order against a man called to see if it had expired because she needed his help moving.

A brown-haired man was taken to the hospital after a caller reported him passed out and twitching while he was parked just off U.S. 93.

Two people called about a intoxicated juvenile laying in the parking lot off Hungry Horse Boulevard. Several other kids eventually got him into a vehicle and took him away.
