Bigfork couple celebrates 60 years
Ted and Judy Smith of Bigfork are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple were united in marriage June 24, 1958, in Colgan, North Dakota.
They lived in Columbia Falls until the ‘80s, they then moved to Great Falls and lived there until this May, when they moved back to the Flathead Valley.
Ted worked for Plum Creek for 19 years. He was also a longtime ambulance driver and hunter safety instructor in Columbia Falls. Ted enjoyed driving trucks for awhile, over the road and for construction locally. He also completed many projects in his woodworking shop.
Judy worked a number of years for Davall Mercantile in Columbia Falls. She also taught piano and organ lessons and created many beautiful quilts. She also enjoys quite a bit of salmon snagging.
Together, they raised three children, Lori (Wes) Parker of Bigfork, Wayne of Columbia Falls, and Tim, also of Columbia Falls. They have two grandchildren, Kyle Parker and Mike (Kat) Parker, all of Bigfork.
The Smiths are glad to be back to the valley and enjoying life among family.
