John Michael Peltier, 64

| June 24, 2018 2:00 AM

John Michael Peltier was born to Victor and Marie Peltier Sept. 10, 1953, in Eureka. John was a very small and frail baby, and was not expected to live, but by the grace of God, and lots of love and special nourishment of his loving parents, he did live.

John “went to heaven” at the age of 64, on June 18, 2018. He was surrounded by his family and friends from Supported Living at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

John’s early years were mostly at the family home in Eureka. For the past 40-plus years, he has been with Flathead Industries and Supported Living in Kalispell. John was one of the first to work for Flathead Industries Thrift Store and live in the Independent Living Apartments.

He worked many years at the Flathead Industries Thrift store. In recent years he retired from working at the store and has been active in their Seniors Day Program. John has been able to live independently, with the loving care of staff at Supported Living and the Seniors Day Program.

He was a caring person, and made friends easily. He was known and loved by many in the Flathead Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tim Peltier; and sisters, Faye Stoken, Carol Robbins and Mary Peltier.

Surviving family are Dorothy (Charles) Newton of Eureka, Victor (Betty) Peltier of Redmond, Oregon, Joe (Teresa) Peltier of Eureka, Rita (Henry) Frank of Newport, Oregon, brothers-in-law Ed Stoken of Eureka and Joe Robbins of Conrad, many nieces and nephews and cousins, and his family at Supported Living and Seniors Day Program. He will be missed by many.

Please donate any donations in his memory to Flathead Industries, Independent Living and Seniors Day Program.

Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Tobacco Valley Cemetery in Eureka. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell.
