Software failure temporarily knocks out 911 service
A reported software failure Thursday at the Flathead Emergency Communication Center led to services being disrupted for about three hours.
According to information from the center, at about 5 p.m. a software failure in the 911 phone system caused calls to stop being delivered to the Flathead Emergency Communication Center.
Center director Elizabeth Brooks contacted VisionNet to have Flathead County’s 911 lines rerouted to the Missoula 911 Center.
Center IT manager Brian Chernish worked with Intrado to repair and restore service by 8 p.m.
