John C. Galbraith Jr., 78

John C. Galbraith Jr., 78, of Kalispell passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2018.

John was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, on Feb. 18, 1940, to John C. Galbraith Sr. and Ilene (Deener). He was raised in Arkansas and Louisiana where he went to school. Before graduating high school John went into the service to serve his country in the Navy and the Marines. After serving his country he took night classes to receive his GED.

John worked across the country as a boilermaker for companies like the Hanford Nuclear Plant, but his last job was with the Hungry Horse Dam as a welder.

In 1991 John married Sandra at Calvary Lutheran Church in Kalispell. He was raised a Southern Baptist and loved to do wood working.

John just celebrated his 78th birthday a week ago with his neighbors.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Jean Ann.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sandra Galbraith; children, Angela Adams, Carl Galbraith (Shannon), Lance Fibranz (Susan), Karin Brown and Dawn Mariee Ahlen, sister, Shirley Mayo; numerous grandchildren, and numerous great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 1 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with burial at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be directed in John’s name to Hospice Home Options.
