Laura Negin, 66

| March 3, 2018 8:26 PM

Laura Negin, 66, of Bigfork, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018.

She is survived by her nephews, Andrew, Alex and Sam; as well as her stepdaughter, Lillian.

Laura, originally from Connecticut, was drawn to Montana for its natural beauty. She spent most of her career in Montana as a social worker for Stillwater Therapeutic Services, and also did census work for the state of Montana.

Laura loved to travel, going to places like Germany, Iceland and Austria. She also made frequent trips to visit family in New York and friends in New Mexico.

Laura was an avid supporter of many of our local businesses. She enjoyed hiking, canoeing and caring for her cat, Minx. Laura also spent many hours with her beloved friends and neighbors. We will remember her love of food, her infectious laugh, and her generous spirit. She loved all and was loved by many.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date when family and friends can travel to attend.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like, you can make a contribution to the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, a faith healing group that Laura invested herself in and which gave her support and comfort.

We are forever grateful for her love, and know that she is resting peacefully.

Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for the family.
