| March 6, 2018 6:32 PM

Richard “Rick” Philip Greer of Columbia Falls died in his sleep on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the age of 67. He was living near his home that burned down a few weeks ago. The cause of death is not known at this time.

Rick loved his home in the woods and is well known for his adventures with hunting, fishing, skiing and photography. He especially enjoyed hunting birds with his German short-hair dogs.

Rick was born in Denver and raised his family in Sheridan, Wyoming, but then moved to the Flathead over 20 years ago. He retired after 20 years with Kalispell Regional Medical Center and worked as the wood shop manager for about 16 years. Rick was known for “making it happen” when asked to do a project for the employees of the hospital and for his kindness to all.

He is survived by his daughter Alisa Gamma of Flathead County, and sons Brent Greer of Missoula and Stuart Greer of Sheridan. He is also survived by his parents Robert and Ruth Greer of Kalispell, sister Robyn Zimmermann of Kalispell, and brother David Greer of Eagle, Idaho.

A celebration of Rick’s life will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, at Columbia Mortuary, 1010 4th Avenue W., Columbia Falls.

Memorials in Rick’s honor can be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flathead County, or Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Bighorns, Sheridan, Wyoming.
