Verna Parks, 88

Verna Parks, 88, “passed peacefully into heaven” on Saturday, March 3, 2018, due to natural causes.

She was born on Oct. 2,1929, and was raised in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania.

She is survived by her brother, Neil (Pat) Bolster; her children, Jeannette (John) Tomlinson, Kathy Blow, Kathleen Meehan, Mike (Sandy) Meehan, Jo Ann (Max) Edington, David (Angie) Meehan, and Tammie (David) Storrs; 28 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Verna owned and operated a personal care home for the elderly for many years. She loved to study the word of God and held a weekly Bible study up until her death. One of her final life accomplishments was publishing her first book of poems, titled “I Touched the Hand of Jesus.”

Verna was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her loved ones.
