- Kalispell Public Schools is accepting applications for its free preschool program for the 2018-19 school year. The program is held at Russell and Peterson elementary schools. Families must live within the elementary district boundaries and meet income eligibility requirements. The child must be 4 years old by Sept. 10. - Area fifth through eighth graders are invited to register to attend a speech and debate middle school camp at Flathead High School. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 25-28. - Enrollment is open for grades first through sixth for the 2018-19 school year at Kalispell Montessori School, 349 Willow Glen Drive, Kalispell. To schedule a tour call 406-755-3826.

- Lakeside Elementary will host a Child Find screening from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 19. No appointment is necessary. Children will be screened in hearing, vision, speech and language skills to identify or evaluate disabilities. The screening is free and open to Lakeside and Somers families. - All Glacier High School juniors will take the free ACT from 8:15 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on March 20. The standardized test measures high school achievement and is used as a college entrance exam. Students are asked to bring a No. 2 pencil, photo ID, and a calculator.

- The Flathead Valley Honor Band Festival featuring eighth graders will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 22 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center. Students will premiere “Going to the Sun” a composition by guest conductor, and Whitefish High School alumni, Russ Newbury. The concert is free an open to the public.

- A teen social at ImagineIF in Kalispell is planned from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March 22. For teens in grades sixth through 12th. The craft will be “Ice Cream in a Bag.”

- March 24 is the last day to purchase 60-day passes to The Wave in Whitefish for $50 with proceeds benefiting the Whitefish High School annual graduation party. Passes may be purchased in the high school main office, Sprouts, Bulldog Saloon and Stumptown Art Studio. People must be at least 18 to buy passes. Passes must be redeemed within 30 days of purchase. - Kalispell Parks and Recreation will hold its Spring Out Camp from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 26-30 at Elrod Elementary. Cost is $30 per day. For more information call 758-7975.

- Most schools have spring break March 26-30. Smith Valley’s spring break will go through April 2.

- March 30 is the deadline to register for the Kalispell Parks and Recreation spring soccer program for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Participants will learn skills and scrimmage once a week April 25 through May 30. Cost is $37. For more information call 758-7848.

- Columbia Falls High School parent-teacher conferences are set from 4 to 7 p.m. April 5.

- There is no school in Creston on April 6 to prepare for the annual Creston Auction.

- April 6 is the deadline to register for the Kalispell Parks and Recreation rookie soccer program. Children ages 3-4 will learn the fundamentals and a parent is required to participate with his or her child. Sessions are held once a week April 25 through May 30. Cost is $32. - A kindergarten roundup is set on April 10 at Olney-Bissell school.

- Columbia Falls Junior High parent-teacher conferences will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 12.

- Cayuse Prairie students have no school April 16 for teacher training.

- There is no school for students in Whitefish School District on April 20 for teacher training.

- School will be in session on April 23 in Whitefish School District. It was previously listed as a snow makeup day on the school calendar. Snow make-up days are now set for June 8, the afternoon of June 7 and the morning of June 9 if needed. The changes are a result of the school closures in September due to cyber threats.

- Smith Valley School will have an early dismissal on April 25.

- April 26 is the deadline to submit an application and essay for the Junior Police Leadership Academy. The academy will be held July 8-14 in Helena. There is no cost to attend and the academy is open to high school sophomores through seniors. Interested students should contact his or her respective school resource officer or visit http://www.macop.com for more information or to get an application. Students selected to attend will be notified in May.

- There is no school in Olney-Bissell on April 27.

- Swan River students have no school on May 11.

- Bigfork Elementary kindergarten registration is May 11. Schedule an appointment by calling 406-837-7412.
