Dogs rescued from icy pond

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly had to perform a water rescue when two German short-haired pointers fell through the ice on a pond near Saint Andrews Drive. Both dogs made it out of the water and were returned to their owner.

A woman reported a physical disturbance at her home on Lion Mountain Loop Road when a man allegedly broke a window to the home with a broomstick and assaulted another man by jumping on his back. The suspect was apprehended and taken to jail.

A witness reported seeing someone attempting to access storage units near Moose Crossing with a crow bar. Officers were unable to find any evidence of a break-in.

Someone reportedly saw a man wearing a ghillie suit with an assault rifle near Lone Pine. The man was allegedly taking part in the filming of a scene for a movie.

Someone reportedly vandalized multiple vehicles and stole three snowmobiles. Someone later found the allegedly stolen snowmobiles at a trailhead to Swift Creek and believed they had been left there over night by the culprit.

Someone reportedly caught a man exposing himself off U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The witness reported the man “took off” when approached and ran a red light to get away.

A resident of Great Bear Lane reported an intruder pounding on their door, but later called back to let deputies know it was just the 5-year-old neighbor boy knocking on the wrong door.

According to a Columbia Falls Police report, a vehicle reportedly flipped on Montana 206 near the Bad Rock Fire Hall, reportedly trapping an occupant inside. A passerby tried to help the alleged victim escape. According to the report, the occupant managed to get out of the vehicle.

Border Patrol officers found a stolen gun while performing a drug search on a vehicle. The gun was turned over to the Kalispell Police.

An intoxicated female patient reportedly escaped from a hospital and proceeded to walk down Montana 40 wearing her pajamas. Officers found the woman and returned her to the hospital.

A rogue cat reportedly bit someone near 9th Street.

A bald man with facial hair reportedly attempted to break into an apartment on Martha Road. A couple and a toddler were inside the residence when the man reportedly hopped the backyard fence and attempted to enter through the back door.

Two boys reportedly climbed on top of a bank building on Nucleus Avenue and sat on the roof eating snacks.

A teacher reported vandals for allegedly throwing a urine-filled condom at the side of his house in the middle of the night.
