| March 21, 2018 12:56 PM

Elnora Dye, 93, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Prestige Assisted Living in Kalispell.

Elnora was born in Geraldine, Montana, to Harvey and Dorothy (Heck) Bell. She was raised in Geraldine and Kalispell, graduating from Flathead County High School.

In 1945 she married James W. Dye in Denver after his discharged from the Army Air Corps after World War II. They were married for 40 years.

Elnora was a stay-at-home mom. From 1949 to 1954 the family lived around Fairbanks, Alaska, and then helped homestead at Tok Junction, Alaska, until they moved back to Montana and lived on Birch Grove Road.

Elnora went to work at the Flathead County Courthouse at the Election Department in the 1960s where she worked herself up to the head of the Election Department, until she had to retire in 1979 after an accident where she was severely burned due to a faulty gas pump at a gas station. After she recuperated, she traveled the Western states with her sister and brother-in-law and eventually bought a second home in Yuma, Arizona, where she spent her winter months. Summers were spent at her cabin at Ashley Lake where friends and family would gather every weekend for fishing and great food. Elnora loved fishing, reading walking and hunting; her biggest trophy was a mountain goat in 1977.

Elnora was the last remaining sibling of nine children.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents, and ex-husband James W. Dye.

She is survived by her children, Carl J. Dye, Helen R. Jackson and William R. Dye, all of Kalispell; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be scheduled in the spring.

The family requests memorials be made to Frontier Hospice, 42 Bruyer Way Kalispell, MT 59901.
