| March 23, 2018 2:00 AM

Carl T. Storkson passed away on March 17, 2018, at his home in Hot Springs.

He was born on May 19, 1948, to George William and Margaret Katherine Miller Storkson in Whitefish.

He graduated from high school in Whitefish and served in the United States Army in Germany.

He is survived by four children, Charles (Cindy) Storkson, Scott (Donna) Storkson, Trisha (Jeff) Trump and Angela Storkson; his brother, Richard Storkson; and three sisters, Eloise Storkson Black Egtvedt, Shirley Storkson Hake Emery, and Betty Lou Storkson Whitman; grandchildren, Kye Weber, Edd Trump, Anthony Sundh, Steele Mikesell, Cody Mikesell, Travis Mikesell, Victoria Mikesell, Shyla Storkson and Leya Storkson Anderson; and five great-grandchildren, Jaden Storkson, Lilly Storkson, Aumen Mikesell, Cameron and Alex Mikesell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan D. Hutchinson Storkson; one son, C.J. (Carl John) Storkson; his parents; three brothers, Mike (Marvin) D. Storkson, Delbert R. Storkson and William Russell Peter Storkson; and two sisters, Ada Loretta Joyce Storkson Edwards and Vivian Laverne Storkson.

While serving in the Army, Carl worked another job to save money so he could purchase a sawmill when he returned home. This dream became reality and Carl was in the lumber business, which later became know as C & D Lumber and then Good Creek Lumber in Olney. In the beginning, he logged his own timber and hauled it back to the mill where he processed it.

He and his wife Joan raised their family in Olney.

It is hard to find a more generous, compassionate person than Carl was. He died believing in a handshake.

He ran for county commissioner in 1996 and was very much a conservative and believed in people’s rights.

In 2006, Carl and Joan moved to Hot Springs where he set up his lumber mill and continued his business.

He has touched many, many lives in his 69 years and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 4 at the VFW, 20 Baker Avenue, in Whitefish.

Donations can be made to the Storkson family at 1896 Highway 28, Hot Springs, MT 59845.
