Kalispell firefighters extinguished a house fire on Greenbriar Drive early Friday afternoon.

Crews who arrived on scene could see smoke coming from a bedroom window, and used a direct attack to quickly extinguish the blaze, according to Kalispell Fire Department Chief Dave Dedman.

Kalispell Fire Department received aid from the Evergreen and West Valley fire departments, as well as the Kalispell Police Department, Flathead Electric and Northwestern Energy.

No injuries were incurred as a result of the fire, which started at about 1:29 p.m. on March 23.

Fire investigators determined the fire to be accidental. It was started by smoking materials that ignited a mattress in a bedroom, according to a press release.

The financial losses from the blaze haven’t yet been determined.
