Bruce Duane Mitchell, 76

Bruce Duane Mitchell “was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” April 23, 2018.

He was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, on June 10, 1941, to Merl and Gladys Mitchell. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. He enlisted in the Navy and served four years.

He married Lois Nyland on Aug. 8, 1964, and together they raised their two children, Scott Mitchell and Lori Wood.

Bruce worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone in Fargo and Bismarck, North Dakota, for 11 years. The family moved to Kalispell in 1976 where he worked for CenturyTel for 35 years.

Bruce enjoyed serving his Lord in various ways. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling and watching Minnesota sports.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Mitchell, and nephew Mike Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; his children, Scott Mitchell and Lori (Pat) Wood; grandchildren, Ashley (Clay) Davis, Rylan Walker, Aleesha Hillis; and great-grandson, Korbin Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; his sister Carolyn and brother-in-law Chuck Fox; stepmother, Thelma Mitchell; and sister-in- law, Karen Mitchell.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, at Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Bethel Baptist Youth Programs, c/o Bethel Baptist Church, 936 4th Ave. W. Kalispell, MT 59901.
