WHITEFISH — The Whitefish girls christened the newly renovated Riverside tennis courts in style on Thursday afternoon, dominating Columbia Falls up and down the lineup in a 7-0 victory.

Bella Wilson, Gracie Young and Jade Greenberg picked up singles wins for Whitefish, but it was Claire Carloss who stood out to Whitefish girls coach Pat Dryden for her play in the No. 1 slot.

“That was probably the best match of the day, and that was a good confidence booster for her,” Dryden said of Carloss’ 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Whitefish’s boys were similarly in control, cruising to a 7-0 win without dropping a set in any match.

“I am very happy with the way the team has been playing,” Whitefish boys coach Chris Schwaderer said. “Everyone is focused on getting better each day. We recognize what we have to do, and we work on it. I think it showed tonight against Columbia Falls.”

Eric Holdhusen, Brendan Buls, Jayce Cripe and Noah Fauth earned singles wins for Whitefish.

Buls breezed through his match without losing a game, and Fauth dropped just one.

“Eric Holdhusen and Brendan Buls, who are interchangeable at 1 and 2 singles, were dominant,” Schwaderer said.

“Mark Anderson and Forrest Kobelt also looked sharp at No. 1 doubles.”

Olivia Potthoff/Aubrey Hanks and Jesse Grawunder/Payton Kastella won doubles matches for the Bulldog girls without dropping a game.

Whitefish stays home for its next matches, which will be versus Ronan and Libby at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, Saturday.
