Intruder makes himself at home

Someone called the Kalispell Police Department to report a man had apparently entered his home through an unlocked door. The homeowner heard a “sniffle” and thought it was his son, but he found a man sitting in his chair with his shoes off. After repeatedly asking the intruder to leave, he finally did. The man believed he had previously lived there, but he had not. Police took the man to his home.

A person called to report a man was on the ground behind a pavilion and not moving. She said she honked her horn, but the ducks were also loud and he didn’t move. Police said the man was intoxicated, but OK.

Someone called to report two people were in an argument, one of whom allegedly had a knife. The person didn’t want to file charges because he is a friend, but he did want the knife returned.

A person called to report a man was concerned about his dog, who he had left in his truck. He told the person he won’t be getting out soon and was concerned about the animal. The dog was taken to the shelter, where it was soon adopted.

Someone called to report her 10-year-old grandson was missing. Officers found the boy visiting a friend and took him home.

A woman called to report a cat that has been hanging around and harassing her. She said she doesn’t know who it belongs to. She is not touching it or feeding it, but it won’t go away.

An older lab mix dog has found the pickings easy from some construction workers in the area. When a person called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report the dog running loose, it was determined that “Goldie Girl” has been fed by workers for about three years. The dog was returned to her owner.

Two men were arguing over rent and a cable bill. The caller was told of the eviction process and the other man was advised to find another place to rent if he is unhappy with the current living conditions.

Someone called to report horses that are repeatedly getting out from his neighbor’s property, destroying his yard and causing problems with his horse. A deputy told the man he would contact the state livestock inspector.

A man called to report his neighbor had sprayed him with weed killer as he walked past. The man declined medical attention and explained there was history between the two. When an officer spoke to the other neighbor, he claimed he didn’t spray him and a game camera would prove it. The officer told the man to treat his neighbor as he wished to be treated.

A woman called to report a teenager riding a small mini bike at a high rate of speed who was harassing her son. The speed demon told the boy “I’m going to run you over” and started chasing her son.

A call for a structure fire turned out to be heavy smoke coming from a backyard barbecue.

Someone called to report a man who allegedly tried to make his son fight the caller’s grandson.

A child’s accidental 911 call evoked a swift response from his mother, telling him “You don’t need to make a phone call!” An officer spoke with the mother and everything was fine.

A person called to report an intoxicated man who has been pressing the crosswalk button for an hour.

A man called the Columbia Falls Police to ask if the department would take his photo and fingerprint him for a form he needs to fill out so he can put a stock on his short-barreled shot gun.

A person called to report a man who continues to ask her out is allegedly a registered sex offender. Police contacted his probation officer, who was going to tell him to stay away from the woman and her residence.

Someone called to report her mother was doing drugs. She had photos on her phone of the alleged incident. Police later separated the people.
