Excavator an unwelcome night guest

Someone called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that he and his neighbors were having trouble with a person running his excavator as late as midnight. When a deputy spoke with the man, he apologized and said he didn’t realize the machine could be heard. He said he would start and end sooner.

A man called to report a possible trespassing incident, but when an officer spoke to the kids in the truck, they said they were shed hunting and believed they were on public land. When told it wasn’t public land, they left.

A man called to report he believes his wife drove a vehicle all over their lawn and keyed his vehicle. They are apparently going through a divorce and she doesn’t currently live there. He said he had text messages from her that indicate this. The man said he was told by officers to change the locks after the last time she came to the property.

Someone called to report an aluminum fishing boat floated by on Flathead Lake with no one in it. The person was concerned that someone may have went overboard. Dispatch found no reports of overdue missing person reports and a check of the hull number also turned up no record.

A person being evicted from his living quarters called to report the landlord is harassing and yelling at him. The person said he has a gun in his possession, but will put it in his vehicle when officers arrive. The situation was sorted out.

A man called to report someone slashed and pulled the valve stem out of his tires. He believes a female ex-friend did this, but doesn’t know why.

Someone called to report a man who was apparently drinking heavily said he was head of the SWAT team. The clerk reportedly got the man a cab to an area hotel.

Someone called to report a person who shot off fireworks near the water slides and wasn’t sure if it was aimed at a Navy plane doing practice approaches.

A call to the Kalispell Police Department about people possibly smoking marijuana inside a parked car turned out to be cigarette smokers.

A person called to report someone that owes money was camping in the parking lot. The woman was removed from the property and efforts would be made to get her to a shelter. There was also a request to pick up a cat from the vehicle.

Someone called to report a man harassing people inside and outside of an area business. Apparently he was hired to advertise the liquidation sale, but was fired and had become a problem. Security was advised to take care of the issue, but police would respond if necessary.

A person called to report a disturbance between two co-workers. No one was injured and neither wished to file charges.

Someone called to report witnessing two drug deals in a parking lot. The person said two drivers pulled up to a white Chevy Cavalier, got out, made an exchange, returned to their vehicles and left.

Someone called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a disturbance involving two people who had allegedly been drinking. When police responded, a woman said it was only a verbal argument. She said the man was trying to get into her room. She said she’d call back if it continued. Officers stayed outside and it remained quiet.
