Berreth in semis, Reichenbachs in final for Bigfork at state tennis
GREAT FALLS — Bigfork’s Emily Berreth along with Clayton and Colten Reichenbach were all unbeaten during Thursday’s opening session of the Class B-C state tennis tournament.
Berreth, in girls singles at C.M. Russell High School, blanked Emma Hopwood of Clark Fork in the first round 6-0, 6-0, topped Melanie Benson of Missoula Loyola 6-1, 6-3 in the next go and then rolled past Emily Clotfelter of Fairfield 6-0, 6-3 to advance to today’s semifinal play.
Up next for Berreth is Christine Funk of Choteau. In the other semifinal, it’s Michaela Gunderson of Chotea versus Grace Daniel of Loyola.
Clayton and Colten Reichenbach also went 3-0, but to reach the finals at Meadowlark Country Club. They won 6-0, 6-2 over Jette Pruttis and Ron Barnhill of Conrad, 6-4, 6-3, over Aidan McCloy and Caleb Colwell of Valley Christian and 7-6 (7), 6-1 over Leroy Wilson and Joe Freze of Anaconda. The Reichenbachs will face David Ramsey and Dan Kaleva of Loyola today in the championship match. The Reichenbachs beat Ramsey and Kaleva last month in a dual 6-2, 6-2.
