Kalispell Lakers defending AA, A Canadian Days champions
After non-conference American Legion baseball games with Mission Valley, Missoula, Belgrade, Butte and Helena, it’s tournament time for the Kalispell Lakers AA and A squads.
The Kalispell Lakers Canadian Days tournament gets under way today with two games at both Archie Roe and Griffin fields.
Play resumes Saturday at 9 a.m. with the championship round beginning Sunday at 10 a.m.
The Kalispell Lakers AA and A teams are defending champions.
The Lakers AA captured this tournament title a year ago for the first time since 2014.
The Lakers A also won the Canadian Day in 2015.
The 2016 final day was rained out.
Both Lakers teams lost their first Canadian Days games last year, but rebounded to win three straight in claiming the championships.
The Lakers AA are 7-4 on the season and have won six of their last seven.
