Glacier in state lacrosse finals

BOZEMAN — The Glacier Lacrosse Club advanced to the finals of the high school boys state tournament with two wins on Saturday.

After a first-round bye, top-seeded Glacier bounced Big Sky with a 16-2 win in Round 2 before eliminating Helena 15-7 in the semifinals.

Drew Engellant led Glacier with three goals and two assists in the opener against Big Sky. He also won 18 of 19 face-offs.

Logan Hill added three goals.

Hill, Darin Rashleigh and Collin Kazmier combined for almost all of Glacier’s offense versus Helena.

Hill tallied five goals and an assist, Rashleigh added four goals and two assists and Kazmier chipped in four goals and an assist.

Brady Kazmier handled things in goal with a season-high 10 saves, and Vincent Friel contributed 14 ground balls.

Glacier will face host Bozeman today at 3:30 p.m. The two teams met once before this season, and Glacier escaped with a 9-8 victory in overtime.
