Who worked on building the Hungry Horse Dam?

| May 22, 2018 8:30 AM

In recognition of the 65th anniversary of the completion of Hungry Horse Dam, the Daily Inter Lake is putting together a special project that will include stories about the hundreds of laborers who helped make the dam a reality.

Located on the South Fork of the Flathead River, four miles above its confluence with the main stem of the Flathead River, Hungry Horse Dam is one of the largest concrete arch dams in the United States, and its morning-glory spillway, with water cascading over the rim and dropping 490 feet, is the highest in the world.

We are inviting readers who worked on the dam during the construction years of 1948 to 1953, or locals who know of friends and neighbors involved with the massive undertaking, to get in touch with us.
