Beverly Jane Lindevig Rehbein, 92

| November 7, 2018 2:00 AM

Beverly Jane Lindevig was born in Sidney on Aug. 8, 1926, to Thomas and Nettie Lindevig.

She passed away Oct. 26, 2018, at her home in Kalispell with her family by her side.

Beverly graduated from Lambert High School in 1944. She helped her father with the farming operations while her three brothers were in the service and also worked as a clerk in a local grocery store until she married James H. Rehbein on Nov. 25,1947, in Sidney. They moved to Shelby, for two years until the family moved back to Lambert the winter of 1949. She raised her family in the Sidney and Lambert area until the family moved to Miles City in 1963 and then to Helena in the summer of 1965.

Beverly worked for Sears Roebuck for 20 years and retired in 1988. Beverly was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars as well as volunteering at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls. She was also active in the Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed the Friday afternoon paint classes.

Beverly always busied herself with her vegetable and flower gardens, quilting and painting. She made two quilts of the History of the Counties of Montana from territorial times to the present 56 counties. She also made a quilt of the History of the American Flag. The quilt includes the flags from Colonial times to the present 50-star flag, the flag of Montana, the Disabled American Veterans Flag and the POW/MIA Flag. It was donated to the Department of Montana Disabled American Veterans at the Department Convention in Kalispell, June of 2002, as a fundraiser and was auctioned off for

$1,000. The gentleman that bought it donated it to the Montana Historical Society in Helena. Both quilts hung in the foyer of the Historical Museum in Helena for several months. Many hours of research, planning and work had been put into those quilts.

Beverly is survived by her children, Charlie (Georgie) Rehbein, Roberta Rehbein and Margaret Hartman, all of Helena, Joseph (Kathy) Rehbein of Bozeman and Lois Rehbein of Kalispell; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
