Flora Mae Isch, 94

Flora Mae Isch passed away on Nov. 19, 2018, at Lakeview Care Center in Bigfork.

She was born on April 28, 1924, in Kalispell to Henry and Ella Bellefleur, pioneer settlers of Creston. She attended Creston Elementary, Flathead County High School and then the University of Montana. Later she received a Master of Arts degree at the same university in Montana history.

On June 30, 1947, she married Harry M. Isch and they set up residence in Kalispell. Flora was a member of the Kalispell Garden Club and Birthday Club. Her passion was gardening and growing many different varieties of flowers. She enjoyed going on wildflower tours sponsored by Flathead Valley Community College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1988.

She is survived by her two daughters, Rita McKinney of Creston and Stephanie Isch of Seattle; her sister-in-law, Betty Trueblood; two grandchildren, Boone McKinney of Orcas Island, Washington, and Nicole Soto of Burbank, California; and two great-granddaughters, Maya and Corina Soto.

Flora was well thought of at the nursing home and her longtime caregivers had some special thoughts. One said, “She was the sweetest, loving and kindest woman I’ve ever met.” Another stated “She always treated us like family.”

A service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the 4Bs Restaurant in Kalispell.
