Bar employee stops burglary attempt
A burglary was foiled by an employee of a bar in Flathead County after a man kicked a door open, according to the owner of the establishment, who lives next door. A window was also damaged, but the person who tried to get in was scared off, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
A 911 call originated from a baby who was watching a video on her mom’s phone while they rode the train near Hungry Horse.
A person who lives near the county landfill said there was a man behind the fence picking mushrooms. He was concerned because he was going to be away and there were weird things that had happened.
A crash on icy U.S. 2 east of West Glacier proved the value of wearing seat belts for two people who crawled out of a SUV that flipped onto its roof. A caller said two women got out and said they were OK.
Someone reported a bus from an area rafting company had been abandoned on Red Gate Road near Marion. The bus had been stripped, the windows were busted and the tires were flat. A check with the rafting company indicated it had been sold a few years ago.
A woman called to report her husband missing after he went hunting near Whitefish. She had tried to call him, but hadn’t been able to reach him. She said he had recently had hernia surgery and that he mostly road hunted. She called again to report he had texted her that he was fine. He also texted that if she had called search and rescue, she needed to “shut that [profanity] down.”
A caller loaned a vehicle to a man, but he was pulled over, had warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody. She was told the keys to her vehicle were given to the Sheriff’s Office and a deputy returned them to her.
A woman said her boyfriend was causing a scene at a holiday party over the subject of military service. The woman said she wanted the people who were arguing to leave, but they were being belligerent and refused. Most of the people at the residence had been drinking heavily, but cooler heads soon prevailed and the argument subsided.
