Creepy couple uneases caller

According to a Kalispell Police report, a parent reported a “creepy couple” at the park, stating that a woman and man were sitting in a running vehicle when the woman tried to get the attention of the caller’s 2-year-old child. The woman then allegedly opened the car door and reached for the child as if trying to take it. Both the man and woman then left the park without the child, but the parent felt that it was still creepy.

A drunk man was reportedly seen leaving an ice cream shop after nearly falling out of his chair will sitting down.

An employee at a thrift store reported finding the lock cut on a rack of tires kept outside the store. The employee was unsure of what had been taken but guessed tires.

Several people called to report gunshots heard in downtown Kalispell, but none were sure where the shots had come from or how many there had been. An officer concluded the shots were fireworks.

Several neighbors reported having the antennas stolen off their vehicles.

A woman reported having five different packages stolen from her doorstep and asked for extra patrol in her neighborhood after learning there was nothing the post office could do.

Someone reported seeing a backseat passenger of a Volkswagen “verbally and physically slapping the driver” at a drive-thru pharmacy. Upon arrival, an officer determined that the argument was verbal only.

Someone reported a puppy mill occurring out of the back of a black-and-white pickup parked near a grocery store off East Idaho Street. The caller claimed the vehicle was there with beagle puppies for sale out of the back every day of the week except Sundays.

According to a Flathead Valley Sheriff’s report, someone reported a break-in at their storage unit on Evergreen Drive. According to the caller, the lock had been cut off and a brand new generator and several other items were missing.

An injured raccoon was reportedly found lying in the lobby of a business. An employee called animal control, concerned the raccoon would bite a customer. Animal control retrieved the raccoon, and had it euthanized at a pet emergency clinic due to the extent of its injuries.

A woman called deputies to help her retrieve her cat, which she found stuck in a tree. Deputies advised the woman to put food and water at the base of the tree and not to try climbing up after it because it would likely climb higher. The deputy also informed the woman that they do not climb trees for cats.
