Alice Mae Ford, 93

Alice Mae Ford passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Buffalo Hill Terrace.

She was born Aug. 6, 1925, to Hans and Nellie Moen in Kalispell. She grew up in the Foys Lake area, moving into Kalispell and graduating from Flathead County High School in 1943.

After pursuing job interests in San Francisco and Washington state, she returned to Kalispell and married Robert Ford in 1950. She raised three sons, always stressing the positive zest which she lived life. Alice found time to work various bookkeeping jobs when she wasn’t busy chasing her kids around town. Alice enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to do crossword puzzles. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kalispell.

Following Bob’s retirement, Alice and Bob enjoyed the warm climate of Arizona in the winter months. They spent 60 years together until Bob’s passing in 2011. She always had a big hug or pat on the back at times when they were really needed most. Thanks Mom, we’ll miss you!

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and son, Mark; her parents; three brothers, Orville, Burton and Norman; and sister, Irene.

She is survived by sons, Robin (Sheila) of Port Orchard, Washington, David (JoAnne) of Kalispell, and Douglas Brenizer (Shawn) of Salem, Oregon; grandchildren, Samuel (Aubrey) and Callie Ford of Washington, Zachary Ford of Kalispell, Chris Brenizer (Jill), Adam Rees, and Erinne Irish of Oregon; and great-grandchildren, Laurelin, Auberon Ford and Anna Brenizer. Alice is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Buffalo Hill Terrace for their care of Alice in recent years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alice’s name can be made to the Buffalo Hill Terrace Employee Fund, 40 Claremont, Kalispell, MT 59901; or the Museum at Central School, 124 2nd Ave. E., Kalispell, MT 59901.

Inurnment will be at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
