Arthur Richard 'Dick' Brennan, 83

Arthur Richard “Dick” Brennan, 83, passed away on Sept. 28, 2018, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Longview, Washington.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1935, to Arthur J. and Dorothy L. (Schlegel) Brennan in New York City, New York. His father worked for Grumman Aircraft and was transferred during World War II to California, where the family relocated. After the end of the war, they moved to Beaverton, Oregon, where Dick finished school, graduating from Columbia Prep High School in Portland in 1953. He joined the Beaverton Police Department in 1956. In June of 1960, he married Judy McHenry, and they made their home in Beaverton, until moving to Kalispell in 1969.

Dick worked as a route delivery salesman for Eddy’s Bakery until being disabled due to a job-related injury in 1973. After being diagnosed with Lewy body dementia, Dick and Judy moved to Kelso, Washington, in 2007. For the last nine months, he had been living in an adult family home. Throughout his life, Dick was an avid Seahawks fan and loved Westerns and John Wayne movies.

Dick is survived by Judy, his wife of 58 years; and his children, Gregory Brennan and wife Raylene of Sherwood, Oregon, Susan Absalonson of Kalispell, Bruce Brennan and wife Teri of Monroe, Washington, Becky Connolly and husband Mark of Kelso, Washington, and Heidi Gast-Wilson and husband Ron of Livermore, California. Dick was blessed with numerous grand- and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kalispell.
