Cigarette butts center of woman's suspicions

A woman found it suspicious that she reportedly kept finding fresh cigarette butts around her home in the morning and was concerned that someone was hanging around her house at night. She requested extra patrol from Kalispell Police Department after allegedly finding one about 16 feet from her back door.

A 23-year-old man found in a park after hours, was allegedly so highly intoxicated that he didn’t know where he was staying and urinated on himself while in the back of a patrol vehicle. The man was transported to the hospital.

Someone called officers to report their husband was outside yelling at the neighbor “kids” who were in their early 20s, claiming that they smoked pot and are “naughty.” The parties were counseled and separated.

A man’s friend, who was in the process of buying a vehicle from him, reported the friend’s girlfriend reportedly had taken the vehicle without permission and was refusing to return it. Dispatchers told the man the registered owner would have to report it as stolen or that is was “unauthorized use.” The man hung up. The boyfriend later called in and said he would get more information to fill out a statement. Eventually, the girlfriend reportedly agreed to return the vehicle.

A mother reportedly said her daughter was almost struck by a black SUV that had loud music playing. The woman told police that reckless driving was an ongoing issue she’s reported in the past.

A woman was allegedly assaulted in a Hutton Ranch Road parking lot when she reported that another woman followed her in a green SUV, got out of the vehicle, pushed and grabbed her, then drove away.

Someone called police to report kids in a vehicle had run over an orange construction cone, dragging it down the road for about two blocks. The cone was later retrieved.

An allegedly intoxicated woman was seen staggering between a sidewalk curb and a lane of traffic. Police counseled the woman to stay on the sidewalks when able.

Someone reportedly used a door to separate themselves from a man making racist comments to them in an attempt to deescalate the situation at a bar on Airport Road.

Ronan Police Department coordinated with Kalispell law enforcement after finding a vehicle filled with brand new tools that had anti-theft devices and wanted to know if there were any pending theft cases.

A man couldn’t take “no” for an answer when told not to return to a store prior to an incident where he allegedly attempted to steal electronics before taking of in a white minivan and nearly hitting another vehicle. When police caught up to the suspect it appeared that he did not actually get away with any merchandise.

Someone requested extra patrol out of concerns that a man in a black vehicle was in a school parking lot watching children going into the school.
