Bruce David Gilroy, 75

| October 10, 2018 2:00 AM

Bruce David Gilroy left this earth and entered the gates of heaven on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.

Dave was born on April 19, 1943, in Jordan, Montana. He was the son of William Nelson Bruce Gilroy and Evelyn Jean Louise Gilroy.

Dave worked as a roughneck in the oilfields of Wyoming and later the North Slope. He rode bulls, guided hunters, and worked ranches, finding his niche training horses. He enjoyed hunting on the family homestead in the Missouri River Breaks.

He was a true cowboy with his hat on his head and a story on his lips. He had a ready smile and was quick to make friends and instigate laughter.

After a serious horse accident, Dave accepted Christ as his Savior and his love for Jesus grew in his later years of life.

Dave is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Holler and Trudy Eckley, of Kalispell; his son, Bruce David Gilroy Jr., of Arkansas; his daughter, Delza McKannan, of Wyoming; his daughters, Stacey and Becky, of New York; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Jean Gilroy, and his brother Art Gilroy.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of Dave’s life at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Bethel Baptist Church in Kalispell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Lake Blaine Baptist Bible Camp, c/o Bethel Baptist Church, 936 4th Ave. W., Kalispell, MT 59901.
