Bette Cowan, 97

Bette Cowan passed away Oct. 10, 2018, of natural causes at the age of 97 at the Immanuel Lutheran Home.

Bette was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Anaconda to Robert and Delvina Walters. She was the youngest of five children. She attended schools in Anaconda graduating from high school in 1938.

On April 11, 1942, Bette married Milford (Chappie) Cowan in Anaconda. After the war, Bette and Chappie moved to Whitefish where they built a house near the City Beach and raised

three children, Sheila, Tom and Duane.

Bette was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her three brothers, a sister, and son-in-law Bob Walters.

Bette is survived by her three children, Sheila Walters of Meridian, Idaho, Tom Cowan and wife Judy of Kalispell, and Duane Cowan of Marana, Arizona; four beloved grandchildren, Cassi, Scott, Tory and McKenna; and two great grandchildren, Emmett and newborn Huxley.

Bette thoroughly enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought love and joy to her life.

In accordance with Betteā€™s wishes, no services will be held.
