Virgil Lewis Fisher, 89

Virgil Lewis Fisher, 89, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

Virgil was born on July 20, 1929 in Kalispell to Guy and Edna (Null) Fisher. He was raised in the Bissell community and he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Western College in Dillon.

Virgil was a school teacher, farmer, logger and self-employed.

Virgil’s hobbies were hunting and fishing.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, a son and daughter, and three sisters.

Virgil is survived by his children, Hal Fisher of Whitefish, and Linda (Jim) Fay of Sammamish, Washington; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five nieces and two nephews.

A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held at noon on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Olney-Bissell School gymnasium, with a reception following the services.

The family suggest memorials be made to the Meals on Wheels program.
