Don't take step toward censorship, as that could threaten our republic

Some thoughts for the Inter Lake editors:
In a civilized society words are a peaceful substitute for for weapons and violence. In a society of government by the people, it is the vital job of newspapers (among many other jobs.) to inform the public of looming dangers to any citizens by presenting the words of those who pose the dangers. Any human statement tells us as least as much about the writer as it does about the subject, so the value of the statement is more important than any offense it might give us.
Any form of censorship is a step toward the destruction of government by the people. Let us not lose any of our faith in a well-informed public, though we may be tempted by those who promise us security.
