Hobbs, Greenwood medalists at Polson Invitational golf
POLSON — Another course, another tournament, another title for Polson’s Matt Hobbs and Corvallis’ Macee Greenwood.
Hobbs shot a 1-under 71 on Thursday to claim medalist honors at the Polson Invitational at Polson Bay Golf Course.
Hobbs finished 4 shots ahead of teammate Trey Kelley.
That 1-2 finish for the Pirates was quite enough, however, to secure the team title. Stevensville claimed that honor with a 317 total. Polson, 321, was second and Hamilton, 324, third.
It was the second medalist title for Hobbs, who has been a top 10 consistent performer. He was first at the Missoula Invitational last month.
Greenwood posted an 88 to finish one-shot ahead of Alana Griffin of Glacier.
Ella Shaw of Whitefish was third with a 91.
Greenwood has won multiple titles this fall.
Whitefish, 392, Corvallis, 405, and Polson, 410, were 1-2-3 in the team battle for girls.
