Libby Nordicfest: 'Trollin' with the Trolls'
The 34rd annual Nordicfest will celebrate Libby’s Scandinavian heritage on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8.
The festival is being expanded this year to reflect Libby’s diverse heritage. From theater and craft show to a Swedish meatball dinner and parade, there’s plenty to do in Libby this weekend. Here’s the full schedule:
Thursday, Sept. 6
7 p.m. — Kootenai Karacters Melodrama at the Maki Theater, “Granny Smith Goes to Washington.” Tickets $10.
Friday, Sept. 7
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Information booth open inside Memorial Center
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Juried Craft Show at Memorial Center
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Food booths open at the Food Court/Memorial Center
Noon — Bunad parade starts at Libby Care Center and proceeds up Mineral Avenue to Memorial Center
10a.m. to 6 p.m. — Quilt Show at Asa Wood Center
12:15 p.m. — Welcome at Memorial Center
1 to 6 p.m. – Free outdoor entertainment
4 p.m. — Runnerfell Race for Children, Libby Elementary School
5 to 7:30pm – Swedish Meatball Dinner at the Elk’s Lodge; adults $10, children $6/Shauney Fisher to follow!

10 a.m. — Parade contestant line-up
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Juried craft show at Memorial Center-Information Booth Open inside the Center

11a.m. — Nordicfest Parade, downtown Libby
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Quilt Show at Asa Wood Center
Noon – Opening Ceremonies, Anthems & Introductions at the Memorial Center/Parade Winners Announced
Noon to 6 p.m. — Information Booth Open Inside the Memorial Center
Noon to 6 p.m. – Free outdoor entertainment at Memorial Center
1 p.m — Coloring Contest in the Memorial Center, ages 4-6, and Troll Mask Making, ages 7-10.
2 p.m. — Krumkake Making and Kids Activities
3 p.m. — Drawing for Educational Give-Aways
4 p.m. — Scholorship Table drawings begin
5 to 7:30 p.m.— Spaghetti dinner at the Elks Lodge, adults $10,child $6
