‘The Lonely Goliath’

“The Lonely Goliath,” a new book by Whitefish author O.D. Siers, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co.

The novel revolves around a young man fighting to stay alive after saving a woman from gang violence. For years, Jeff Porter has been the victim of his abusive mother, until one terrible night when he is able to escape. On his own, Jeff tries to create a new life free from his rage and pain. He makes friends who help him overcome his past and build a new life.

Yet violence continues to surround Jeff. One night, he rescues a young woman from a vicious gang attack. Suddenly the focus of a police investigation and targeted by a private detective searching for a serial killer,

Siers was a teacher and coach for 48 years.

‘Killer on the Lake’

Lakeside author Frank J. DiNenna has independently published a mystery novel called “Killer on the Lake.”

The 401-page paperback, available in digital format and paperback on Amazon, revolves around Troy Harden, a special agent with the FBI who was good at catching con artists, bank robbers and finding people who had disappeared. He left the FBI under a cloud of corruption, but was cleared of all charges.

The story takes place in Midas Lake, a private playground for the rich and famous. When Troy is asked to find the granddaughter of an old classmate, it leads him to the dark side of Midas Lake: drugs, teen porn, the mob, multiple disappearances and murder.

DiNenna said he’s always had a passion for writing about his travels and telling stories of the places where he’s been. He will be selling his novel at the Kalispell Farmers Market on Saturday, Sept. 8. For more information contact DiNenna at 406-260-7869.
