Bravettes bounce Big Sky in volleyball
MISSOULA — Flathead Bravettes opened Western AA volleyball play on Tuesday by dropping Missoula Big Sky 27-25, 25-7, 25-11.
The Bravettes survived a close call in the first set, but dominated play after that to move to 7-6 overall, 1-0 league.
“We took a little bit of a slow start, had to find our rhythm, got in a groove,” Flathead coach Nicole Fairclough said.
“Everyone played really well.”
Especially Taylor Henley and Sierra Wilhelm.
Henley led in kills (13) and blocks (six).
Wilhelm had team-bests in digs (14), assists (35) and aces (three).
“Taylor and Sierra had great all-around games,” Fairclough said.
Madde Boles also had three aces for Flathead.
“We passed the ball and the hitters took care of the ball at the net,” Fairclough said.
Up next for Flathead is the crosstown match on Thursday at Flathead. Play starts at 7 p.m.
