Man arrested in Fresh Life burglary
A transient man is lodged in the Flathead County Jail after police said he burglarized a Kalispell church last week.
Wesley Michael Worobel, 32, is facing a felony count of burglary and Kalispell Police said other charges are anticipated.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a Fresh Life Church member called police to report a theft Sept. 6.
KPD officer Brett Corbett spoke with the church member, who showed the officer video surveillance from inside the church. A man was seen kicking several office doors and entering the rooms. A number of items were taken and Corbett recognized the man in the video as Worobel, someone he knew of.
Two days later, Sept. 8, KPD officer Kaarre saw a man matching the description of Worobel. The alleged suspect was wearing a backpack that matched one a man was wearing during the burglary of the church.
Kaarre arrested Worobel and took him to KPD. During a search of the backpack, several items were found.
Another church employee confirmed that items in the backpack that Worobel was allegedly wearing had items that belonged to the church.
Worobel is facing a 20-year state prison term.
KPD investigations Captain Doug Overman said the investigation isn’t over. If anyone has information about the burglary, they are asked to call 758-7793.
