Magazine names Whitefish best resort for overall satisfaction

Whitefish Mountain Resort is the top resort in the West for “overall satisfaction” according to SKI Magazine’s upcoming Resort of the Year issue.

Acccording to a media release from the resort, the issue replaces SKI Magazine’s resort guide that ranked the top 30 resorts in the West and top 20 resorts in the East. The new format features readers’ picks based on the results from the 2018-19 Reader Resort Survey and selections by the magazine’s editors and contributors.

“It is an honor to receive this esteemed accolade in SKI Magazine’s Resort of the Year issue. We are grateful that our guests continue to express their high-praise for their experience at our resort,” Whitefish Mountain Resort CEO Dan Graves said in the press release. “This award truly puts into perspective how our commitment to providing a high level of service combined with unmatched value continues to resonate with our customers and is part of what keeps them coming back year after year.”

For more than 30 years SKI Magazine has been asking its readers to rank the North American resorts they have visited in the last two years in a variety of categories, and provides an additional opportunity for readers to speak to each resort’s greatest strengths through comments. This year’s categories included: local flavor, value, service, charm, snow, lodging, grooming, family friendly, dining, on-mountain food, accessibility, scenery, après, nightlife, down day activities, travel ease, lifts, terrain variety, challenge and overall satisfaction.

The October 2018 Resorts of the Year issue will appear on newsstands Sept. 25.

“Additionally it speaks to the depth of character found throughout our community and its natural, easy atmosphere in a laid-back small-town setting,” continued Graves. “Our resort and the community of Whitefish is a unique experience that offers our guests the freedom and comfort to be who they are, have fun and connect with friends and family and have access to quality products and services without paying a premium for it.”

Whitefish was named the 10th best resort in the West in the 2017 SKI Magazine resort guide. The resort’s previous top rankings were No. 11 in 2016-2017 and 2012-2013, and No. 9 in 2015-16.

Whitefish Mountain Resort is scheduled to open for the 2018-19 season on Dec. 6.
