Retirement party for Inter Lake Managing Editor Frank Miele
A retirement open house for Frank Miele, longtime Daily Inter Lake employee and its managing editor for the last 18 years, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Inter Lake offices, 727 E. Idaho St., in Kalispell.
Cake, coffee and snacks will be served. The public is invited to sign a guest book and share memories.
Come to the Inter Lake’s north entrance. Look for the signs. Parking is available.
Parenting program offered
The Parents, Let’s Unite for Kids (PLUK) nonprofit organization, supporting youth with special needs, is offering a 10-session program titled “Parenting the Love and Logic Way,” designed to help parents equip their children with character, compassion, problem solving skills and more.
The program will teach parents practical skills that can be used immediately:
How to stay calm when your kids do upsetting things
Help kids learn from their mistakes
How to avoid enabling and begin empowering
How to avoid power struggles and arguments
The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Oct. 2, and meet every Tuesday through Dec. 4 at the Gateway Community Center United Way Conference Room, 1203 U.S. 2 W., Kalispell.

Disabled veterans mobile services
One of the various services Disabled American Veterans provides at no cost to veterans is its Mobile Service Office (MSO) Program. These offices travel to under-served communities across the country to help veterans and their families obtain the services and benefits they have earned. The assistance is free to veterans.
The DAV mobile office will be in Kalispell from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at the Kalispell Vet Center, 690 N. Meridian Road, Suite 101.
