Raymond 'Fred' Mehring, 91

Raymond “Fred” Mehring was born March 22, 1927, to Raymond R. Mehring and Ethel Carlson in Laurium, Michigan.

He passed away in his home on Sept. 13, 2018, in Martin City at the age of 91.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joan Marinelli Mehring.

Fred is survived by his children, Daniel Mehring, Lynn Mehring, Wendy Appel and Bonnie Mehring. He has seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

His second wife, Lenore Brabham, also preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Navy veteran. Fred loved the outdoors. You could always find him tinkering in his garage or in the wilds of Montana or Arizona gold panning, hunting, trapping and fishing.

A military honors ceremony and memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 658 Spotted Bear Road, Martin City.
