Stillwater girls down Mission Valley in soccer
Jascah Vann figured in the first three Stillwater Christian scores and Mabelle Hartman had two goals in the second half for the Cougars, who rolled by Mission Valley Christian Academy 5-1 in Montana Christian Athletic Association soccer play on Tuesday.
Mission Valley scored one minute into play, but a Vann shot found the net four minutes later to tie it.
Vann followed with another goal at 21 minutes and then assisted Julia Pittaway at 41 minutes.
Pittaway also had two assists.
“We got off to a rough start allowing Ellie Maddy to dribble her way down to the goal and score in the first minute of the game,” Stillwater coach JR Hemp said.
“After that we were able to settle down and control the midfield. Our seniors, Jascah Vann and Loren Pittaway, provided great leadership by controlling the midfield and setting up goals throughout the match. For Vann’s second goal she dribbled down through four players and put it in the back of the net. Our goalie Linnea Hodgskiss did a great job blocking several one-on-ones with Maddy. We played well as a team tonight.”
Stillwater, 5-3-1, plays at the Columbia Falls JV on Thursday at 7 p.m.
