Bigfork spikers beat T- Falls in 5

THOMPSON FALLS – The Bigfork Valkyries knocked off Thompson Falls in a hard-fought District 7B volleyball match on Thursday, winning 25-18, 10-25, 21-25, 27-25, 15-11.

“A well-fought match,” Bigfork coach Schuyler Tudor said. “We came out really strong at the beginning and then the second game we struggled and then we had to fight our way back to try to gain momentum. Gosh I cannot say enough about our seniors. They fight really hard and they pull together to get this team motivated to win.”

Senior Brooke Fraley showcased her versatility with 15 kills and six service aces. Ahna Fox and Jaclyn Saunders are Bigfork’s other two seniors this season.

“They’ve been in the program for four years and this is really important to them,” Tudor said of her veterans. “They’re just really demonstrating great leadership right now.”

Columbia Falls 3, Ronan 0

RONAN – The Columbia Falls Wildkats beat Ronan in three straight sets to win the Northwest A Conference match 25-19, 25-16, 25-15.

Hannah Schweikert had a strong showing with all 15 team assists, while Lauren Faulkner had six service aces. Ryley Kehr led with nine kills.

For Ronan, Tiana Ulutoa recorded eight of nine team assists and 15 digs. At the net, Madison Clairmont led in kills with six.

BROWNING – Whitefish swept Browning 25-18, 25-7, 25-20 for the Northwest A Conference win.

Kaiah Moore led the Bulldogs with eight digs and five services aces. Lauren Schultz recorded 14 assists.

MISSOULA – Missoula Hellgate held on to defeat Glacier in five sets, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 23-25, 21-19, in the Western AA match.

Hellgate’s Liza Littig notched 43 of 46 team assists and four service aces. Kylie Lunday had 17 kills.

For Glacier, Kaylee Fritz recorded two service aces and 46 assists. Kali Gulick had 11 blocks and 21 kills.
